Today is my Friday, so naturally, I’m busy as hell with work but have zero motivation to stay grounded and actually work. It’s a catch-22. I know I need to work because that would lead to less time I have to be on my computer over the weekend, but at the same time, I just don’t want to work. I’m torn between two worlds, two mentalities, and two energies. The only thing keeping me sane at this point is new music like “Making Heaven from the Hell You Left” from Nervous Light.

“Making Heaven from the Hell You Left” is the second single of the year for Australia’s Nervous Light. I love how this song takes a second to really ramp up. It starts fairly strong but then falls into a few minutes of sheer beauty and tenderness before you really hear all of the power that Nervous Light has to offer. To call this a rollercoaster ride of a song would be an understatement. From the highest highs to the lowest lows, Nervous Light seems to go through an entire lifetime of emotions in this one, three-minute-and-ten-second song, yet there is nothing super rushed or panicked about the track. You can hear this band’s post-hardcore roots throughout this song, but you also hear flickers of emo and even pop scattered throughout. This gives the song a very infectious kind of feeling while staying true to Nervous Light’s unique sound. All in all, this is the kind of song you need if you don’t know what you need.
