Girl at the Rock Shows

I typically love Mondays because I see them as a fresh start, but that’s not the case today. I would like to know where my weekend went and how it’s already time to get back to the grind. Honestly, it doesn’t matter. We are here, and I need to pull it together for what is sure to be another insane week of work. Thankfully, I have a whole slew of new music to share with you that will surely help all of us get through this week, starting with “GREEDY PIGS” from Chasing Abbey.

This is a perfectly timely and insanely powerful track from Irish trio Chasing Abbey. Sonically, this song seems to dabble in this strange world between indie rock and something just a bit harder. It’s catchy but not in the typical sense of the word. It has emotion but isn’t overly emotional. It’s a powerful track but never leaps into the world of being aggressive I love how there’s a slight nod to traditional Irish folk music scattered throughout the background of this song on top of everything else. Long story short, this song is all about balance, and that really caught my ear and my heart. Another thing that caught me here was the lyrics behind the track. As with every song, they are open to interpretation. For me, this song had a very political hue to it, but I could also see people taking this song as a message about the harm of greed and nothing more. It’s a deep track and has definitely put Chasing Abbey on the map for me.
