Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s Riot Fest week, and to say I’m excited would be an insane understatement. Not only do I get to check out so much amazing music, but I also get to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. I’ve met a lot of super talented photographers, including one that I stay in touch with throughout the year. A few months ago, she reached out to me about Astro Brat. It took me a hot minute to find the time to really dig into this band, but after I did, I was in love, and it’s time to share them with you all instead of keeping them to myself.

“Alarm” is a dynamic indie-rock song full of anthemic moments and moments that feel a bit more tender and sensitive. The way this band balances the feel of an arena-ready rock band with a more intimate garage-rock group is insane, and I love how, depending on what part of the song you’re listening to, you can get transported to either place— an arena or a sweaty club. “Alarm” has an infectious energy and lines of notes and words that instantly become earworms you can’t shake. Add in the relentless energy of Astro Brat, and you are left with a song that is perfect for those days when work feels overwhelming and it feels like you are just counting down the minutes until you can escape to a concert. High-octane rock served up with a fresh helping of fiery passion, “Alarm” from Astro Brat is just the beginning when it comes to this band, so when you inevitably get hooked by this lone single, feel free to spend some time digging into their other material out there. I promise it won’t disappoint!
