I got behind on work this weekend. I had grand plans to stay on top of things, but it just didn’t happen and now I’m sitting here with multiple full inboxes and a pile of new songs to share with you. It’s going to be a busy day, but a good one, so buckle up and let’s get the day started right with “Ruined” from Lunneth.
The vocals of this song are both powerful and haunting. That’s what first thing that drew me into Lunneth’s world. I love how, stylistically, this is a very post-hardcore-leaning song, but there are these angles of metalcore scattered throughout and moments of something a bit more emo and even poppy that glitter throughout the three-minute and forty-four-second track. This is a powerful song. You can hear it in the overall, but when you dig into the meaning behind the lyrics, you realize the depth of that power. It’s about addiction, regret, and accountability, but instead of romanticizing all of that, this song looks at it with raw, tear-soaked eyes in a beautiful and honest way. Lunneth just released their EP ‘All Scene, No Substance’ the other day, which is where this single comes from. Not only is this song flawless, but so is the EP, so make sure to spend some time with it today!
