I wasn’t given any information about who Shilly is other than they are from American but one listen to “I’m Boring” is all I needed to know about this band. Infectious and oh so positive feeling, this track was just what I needed to help me get through what was turning into a sleepy Friday.
Shilly has a super classic pop-punk sound in “I’m Boring” but there are moments throughout the track that also feel super fresh and modern. With a chorus that rivals those of Mayday Parade in a perfect and complimentary way, this is one of those songs that I could listen to over and over again and not get sick of. Even though it’s poppy and full of fun, there’s an intensity that comes from the chugging guitars and crashing drums throughout the song that adds the perfect amount of edge to the track.
This song is seriously flawless and more than deserves your attention to check it out and show Shilly some love!
