I know that Machine Gun Kelly gets a lot of hate these days but something about his ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ hit me just right when it came out and it continues to be one of my go-tos. That’s why when I heard “Sleep On It” from JSTNXMLLR, I just could not get enough of it.
Although this absolutely has that MGK styled vibe, there’s something original about it. Bridging the gap between pop-punk, cloud-rap, and just a classic pop song, “Sleep On It” is both catchy and full of heart and soul. It’s one of those songs that can give you a burst of energy and optimism when a cup of coffee just isn’t work and I loved it for that. Although it does lean a bit more commercial than I tend to share out, I feel like there are elements throughout this song that refer back to bands like Blink 182 and Simple Plan while having a fresh tone to it.
I seriously can not understate the power behind this song and even if you aren’t a fan of MGK like I am, I feel like you should still take a listen and let the magic of this track take you over.
