Are you still sleeping on The Jack Knives even after I’ve shared multiple singles from them? Well, here’s yet another chance to hop on this amazing train. The Jack Knives just released their new track “The Time We Had” and, like the previous songs, this one is absolutely worth your time.
There’s a sense of heaviness behind this track that I haven’t quite gotten from The Jack Knives before but I love it. The heaviness comes from the fact that this song is about a fractured relationship between a father and child. Deep, I know but don’t be afraid that this song is too heavy for a daily listen. There is still an undeniable infectious factor that seems to be a signature move of this band. With a melodic punk-rock vibe reminiscent of bands like The Gaslight Anthem and The Menzingers, this song will surely make you feel all the feels while also giving you a chance to rock out ever so slightly so– go ahead and take three minutes and do just that.
