“Torture” from DryerFire is about an uncomfortable subject but one that is so serious and so important. **trigger warning** This song is about DryerFire’s singer and them dealing with the emotions of being raped. This is a heavy subject to put into a song but what DryerFire has done with is makes it impossible to ignore.
“Torture” is intense and rightfully so. I feel like every word comes drenched with a sense of emotion but those emotions are all over the place. Some words feel defeated, others feel strong and the way they all come together to tell the story is absolutely beautiful. At face value, you get angst and aggression here which, again, rightfully so, but, as you really start to dig into this track, you literally recognize the beauty in the breakdown. This subject is not an easy one to write about let along but out there so I applaud DryerFire for doing just that and making it into one hell of a track.
