It’s Friday. You know what that means– I have a bunch new music to share with you (along with some older tracks that slipped through the cracks). There’s a lot to share today and I can already tell that I am going to be trying to bounce from work early to take a nap before I pull double-duty at two shows tonight so let’s stop wasting time and jump into the first brand new single of the day, “Shut Your Mouth” from Millie Manders and the Shutup.

I mean, the band name and song title alone had me hooked but this song is so much more than a sassy title and band name. It takes a couple of seconds but, when this song hits, it really hits. In fact, it “slaps” as the kids may say. Okay, that felt weird typing that because, well, I’m old, but I think when you hear this song you will understand what I’m trying to say. This is a pop-punk-perfect track with a twist. There horns, pop-leaning vocals, ska breakdowns, a hip-hop vibe at times– this song has it all and it’s all over the most perfect anthemic instrumentation. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of Millie Manders and the Shutup prior to hearing this song but I’m hooked and will absolutely be going down this rabbit hole for the rest of the day.
