Girl at the Rock Shows

I have Michelle Branch playing right now. That’s not a bad thing and I’m honestly excited to see her this coming weekend at When We Were Young but it’s just not fitting my mood right now. What is fitting is “Facade” from Obsidian.

“Facade” is intense and in your face. Obsidian wastes no time hitting you with a wall of sound when it comes to this track and it’s just so perfect. Although it’s really chaotic and loud, the band stays in control throughout this song and I love the different movements that comes through throughout the three minutes and ten seconds. It doesn’t follow the common composition of metalcore songs and definitely throw some curveballs at you which makes it a super dynamic listen that will surely keep you on your feet. Everything about this song is flawless from the recording quality to the song in general. There’s a sense of organic movement within this track that I don’t think I’ve ever heard from a heavy band before but it’s something that will absolutely keep me coming back to Obsidian for more.
