Girl at the Rock Shows

Are you sick of pop-punk-perfect tracks yet? I’m not so let me introduce you to “Contact High” from Ableside.

Although I’m calling this a pop-punk-perfect track, it’s not as poppy leaning as some of the others I’ve shared with you today. This song focuses more on the emotional intensity and controlled chaos side of the genre. To say that this song is emotionally charged would be an understatement. Larger than life riffs with vocals that will tug at your heartstrings, I loved the way Ambleside was able to add such a lush feeling to this genre. There’s something almost calming about some of the vocal harmonies which is a huge contrast to the intense instrumentation but it’s what makes this song such a stand out foe me. Ambleside is from Australia which means I’m not sure when or if I’ll ever get the chance to see them live but one listen to “Contact High” and this band has landed on my “I must see live” list.
