Before I get into the next single I want to share with you today, I just want to put it out there that I don’t condone drug use. I don’t think taking Xanax is cool or anything like that but I do think that “The Xanax Song” from An Adolescent Tragedy is an absolute banger and so worth your time right now. Now that I’ve gotten that little disclaimed our of the way, let’s jump into this track!
As the song title may lead you to believe, this is a song about Xanax. It’s funny and sarcastic which is definitely right up my alley. Stylistically, this song dabbles between a Dollar Signs rawness and a NOFX punk edge. I love the way this group is able to jump into both worlds so perfectly while also making sure that you know this song is theirs and nobody else. Pop-punk vibes with a bit more of a punk leading edge, this song is short and to the point. It’s not meant to be taken seriously but that’s the fun behind it. I feel like I spend so much time looking for the depth in tracks that sometimes it’s nice to hear a song that just makes you smile that’s exactly what “The Xanax Song” does.
