Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s the kind of day where when I read the artist name “Champagne Jacket”, I instantly started envisioning what a jacket made out of champagne may look like. I promise, I’m not losing it. Okay, maybe I am but I took a couple of minutes wondering if it would be made out of bottles, bags, little shooters, an avant-garde liquid type material? I thought on this far too long before I realized that champagne is also a color so my problem was solved. It was a frantic couple of minutes in my mind but the color realization with “Sarah” from Champagne Jacket helped bring me back down to earth.

“Sarah” is the newest release from Melbourne-based Champagne Jacket. It’s a fun little bop that is definitely a bit out of left field when compared to everything else I tend to share out but it’s just too fun of a track to not share with you. It has a subtle disco vibe and nods to a little Bruno Mars and Bowie. Overall, I would call it indie-pop but that electronic disco vibe, although subtle, stops me short from calling it a straight up indie-pop jam. Even if you’re like me and are having a day where heavy music seems to be hitting the spot more than anything else, “Sarah” will surely put a smile on your face and a pep in your step. “Sarah” is just one of the five songs from Champagne Jacket’s debut EP which isn’t out quite yet so make sure to follow Champagne Jacket on his socials so you don’t miss the release!
