Girl at the Rock Shows

The line-up for Punk Rock Bowling just got announced and my head is already in Vegas in May of next year. I knew the line-up was going to be good because it always is so my bestie and I blind-bought the tickets to save some money but the anticipation had been killing me. The line-up is fire, as expected, and now my head is definitely everywhere except for at my desk. Let’s both celebrate this stellar line-up while also try to get back into work by checking out “Skeleton Girl” from Melt.

Listening to and watching the video for “Skeleton Girl” from Melt did nothing to help me regain motivation because it just made me want to be at a live show (specifically from Melt) so badly. This video is fun and all over the place much like the music. Honestly, the video reminds me a bit of the off-the-wall antics that Will Wood & The Tapeworms has in some of their videos which is stinking fun and eye-catching. Musically, I would probably put this track into the alternative rock vein of things but that seems so constrictive to the overall style of this track. There were moments that reminded me of My Chemical Romance, moments that had a very MUSE feel to them and others that felt a bit almost psychedelic meets stoner rock. Again, like the video, the sound of “Skeleton Girl” is all over the place but that’s what makes this track, and Melt in general, so perfect.
