Girl at the Rock Shows

My search for fun music to keep me going today continues and it has reached a high point with “Pineapple Party” from Kid on a Leash. I mean, the band name alone is enough to make me smile but listening to this flawless pop-punk track made that smile spread across my entire face.

This song is about a couples’ first time going to a swinger’s party and the consequences of said party. I won’t give it all away but also have to be honest, I didn’t even realize that’s what this track was about the first time I heard it. I was so lost in the pop-punk energy that I didn’t care what Kid on a Leash was singing about, I was in love. The vocals had an almost Goldfinger meets Blink 182 style to them while the instrumentation stays a bit behind the vocals. There are dizzying guitar parts scattered throughout this track and a super powerful drumbeat but I feel like the vocals really command the majority of this track. “Pineapple Party” will make you want to get up and dance a little bit and I highly suggest you just let it happen while you feel the weight of the day melt away with every note and infectious beat that passes by.
