Just when I thought I was starting to get up from under my workload, a giant project lands in my lap. I’m honestly thankful for it as I’m a workaholic who truly doesn’t know how to do anything but work but, at the same time, I was looking forward to just having a pretty carefree day. Part of me is ready to take on this new project. Part of me wants to put it off tomorrow. Part of me just wants to dig into more music by Prism Bitch after hearing “City Nights”. I wonder which part will win.
This song is fun and the video is hilarious. Honestly, the style of this track is definitely a bit different than my usual. Okay, saying “a bit” is an understatement. This song comes out of leftfield if you’ve gotten used to my normal offerings but you’ll understand why I love it so much as soon as you hit play on it. This is an almost 80s inspired soundtrack that belongs in a 90s movie. I know that makes no sense but the heavy synth sound definitely has this 80s ballad vibe to it while this song doesn’t feel that dated and has a bit of a 90s energy behind it. I wish I could tell you about the video because it honestly got a giant belly laugh out of me but I don’t want to ruin it. I feel like just listening to the track is great but adding the video to the mix is magic so, please, take the three minutes and nine seconds that this song lasts and just stop everything and enjoy the magic that is “City Nights” from Prism Bitch and then join me on a deep dive into their other material.
