Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m having a fairly good day. Although tired, I’m getting a lot done and feeling relatively upbeat for a Thursday. That being said, I’m always a sucker for an emo track about a breakup so let’s dig into “My Heart Won’t Go On” from Hampton Point.

Although this is definitely an emo track with the lyrics and the weight of each word as they pass through your speakers, there’s something uber-powerful about this song that will just hit you even if a breakup is the furthest thing from your mind right now. That power is evident as soon as you hit play on this track and are greeted by strong guitar chords and power before the song falls into it’s emo-alt-rock vibe that takes over and persists to the end of the track. Although the rest of the track doesn’t have the same in-your-face power as the opening few seconds, the power throughout this song is deafening. It’s emotional and raw but so perfectly produced at the same time. Hampton Point really made an atmosphere with “My Heart Won’t Go On” that is beautiful and so easy to get lost in so turn up the volume and just get lost in this gorgeous piece of art.
