I was doing so good this morning getting things done left and right but now the realization that I won’t get everything done this week is hitting me and I’m getting discouraged. I really need to get better about coming to terms with the fact that I am just one person trying to run two companies while also having a full-time day job and I can only do what I can do but right now is one of those moments where I just can’t wrap my head around that. I can’t just give up today but I do need a little break to reset so now seems like a perfect time to dig into another new track.
Okay, “Pain and Comfort” from Ok Robot isn’t “new” as it came out two months ago but chances are you haven’t heard of this band yet so I’m calling it a new song. Ok Robot is a pop-punk band with a super solid and clean sound. Although their sound definitely fits perfectly into the pop-punk mold of things, I loved the moodiness that comes with “Pain and Comfort” and loved how there were moments throughout this nearly three minute song where I got more of an alt-rock vibe from some of the instrumentation. The song is fairly slow and steady but it comes with a punch to the gut as far as how much emotion this band is able to fit into each beat. If you like anything from The Story So Far to Microwave, I promise you will find something in “Pain and Comfort” that will have you becoming obsessed with Ok Robot in no time.
