Girl at the Rock Shows

When this song first came across my desk, I couldn’t help but instantly think of Motion City Soundtrack. Their album ‘Commit This To Memory’ will always be a favorite of mine so to say that the bar was high as I hit play on this track by a band of the same name would be an understatement. Thankfully for me, Commit This To Memory did not let me down.

“Meant To Be” is the definition of pop-punk-perfect. This song takes a super modern look at a more classic pop-punk sound. With nods to everything from Blink 182, to Real Friends, and all the way to a more Midwest emo style, I loved everything about this song. There is something fresh about “Meant To Be” but, at the same time, this will take you on a nostalgic walk through the decades of pop-punk in such a perfect way. Add a sense of professionalism and well thought-out composition and you are left with a song that will get stuck in your head for the rest of the day and a band that you will want to dig deeper into. I wish I had more to say about this but I feel that Commit This To Memory’s sound will do all the talking that I am failing to do this early Thursday morning so just take a listen and show this band some love!
