It’s finally starting to feel like winter up here in Minneapolis. The temperature has dropped and there seems to be an almost constant spitting of snowflakes. Personally, I love it and my impending weekend up north this weekend can’t get here fast enough. I’m ready to get cozy and just unplug (as much as I possibly can) for a couple of days. We aren’t there yet though so I need songs that both help me stay in this cozy mood while giving me a sense of life to get through this final day of work and, thankfully, “Everybody Has To Go Home” from Garden Station has nailed both of those things (but mostly the sense of life thing).
“Everybody Has To Go Home” is the first single from Garden Station’s first ever full length album and one listen to this track will surely have you counting down the days to that full release. Think Vampire Weekend meets The Strokes with a little Kurt Vile attitude and you can get yourself close to what you get from this song. It’s a fun and upbeat folk-punk jam that comes at you at a furious pace and comes complete with a wailing harmonica. If none of those things sound intriguing then I think you need to reassess your listening habits. “Everybody Has To Go Home” is ridiculously catchy in more ways than one. Not only will it get stuck in your head instantly, it will make you want to start dancing around like nobody is watching and that feeling will last long after this three minute track is done. So put a smile on your face, do a silly dance, and enjoy “Everybody Has To Go Home” from Garden Station.
