Harvey Drive had me hooked with their last single they sent me (“Dead Sleepyhead”) by the description that accompanied the track. They have me hooked yet again but this time it’s because of the name of the track. I mean, come on, how could you not instantly want to know what a song titled “I’m your Motivational Speaker and You Better Be Dancing By Now” sounds like?!
This quick two minute and forty-seven second song is a punch little punk anthem that comes with a side serving of angst and energy. It’s a song for anybody who doesn’t actually dance at shows. If I’m being frank, I am that person. I typically find myself plastered to a wall rather than up in the pit but I can tell you that if I ever seen Harvey Drive perform live, I will be front and center for this song, dancing my heart out. Even just listening to this song at my work desk has me wanting to get up and dance a little bit. There’s just such an infectious and fun energy about it. The thing I love so much about Harvey Drive is they clearly don’t take themselves too seriously but, in doing so, they have created a sound that is carefree and ridiculously catchy. Don’t believe me about how catchy this track is? Just listen to it one time and then try not to go back and listen to it all over again.
