Girl at the Rock Shows

This past weekend was a whirlwind. It started with me being sicker than a dog and sleeping nearly twenty hours straight, to celebrating a good friend’s marriage at one of the best and most chill weddings I’ve ever been to, to being sick again and staying on the couch for the majority of Sunday, to getting a second wind and making it out to a show on Sunday night. Like I said, a whirlwind, and I am still trying to come to terms with everything that happened over the weekend while, at the same time, getting down to business this week. Long story short, we are going to need some stellar singles to help get me through this Monday and stellar is exactly what you get with “Sleep” from LULL.

Hailing from the UK, LULL has a true way with words and emotion. Don’t believe me? Within just seconds of their single “Sleep”, you will surely get hit right in the feelings. This song balances a line between delicacy and power so beautifully with a slow and atmospheric intro that draws you in before the band’s signature bass tones and huge vocals come in and hit you right in the heart. The vocals are harsh in a way especially when compared to the delicacy and twinkly nature of some of the instrumentation but that just helps really drive the emotion behind this song home in a stunning way. Whether you want to feel everything all at once or nothing at all, LULL is a band for you and “Sleep” is a beautifully powerful track that will surely get your week started off right.
