I yet again find myself not being able to settle on something to listen to today. I’ve been through the pop charts, been through my nostalgia rabbit hole and now am in a weird EDM world that part of me desperately wants to get out of. All of these things means it’s time to check out a new track.
“Drugs Dad” from GROTTONAUT is just what the doctor ordered. This punk song has a sense of calm and chill about it while being completely full of life at the same time. It’s not the fastest or most chaotic punk song out there yet I found everything in this song to be so perfect from the vocals to the instrumentation and all the way to the composition. There’s a little The Lawrence Arms influence that comes through here and there and even a little NOFX attitude that I caught glimpses of throughout this three minute song but, overall, this song is GROTTONAUT and I truly can’t want to hear more from this Texas based band.
