Sometimes I hear a song and although I can’t quite put it into words, I instantly fall in love with it. That’s the case when it comes to “Reasons” from Schoney.
The blend of genres throughout this nearly three-minute song is probably what got me. I love the way that, at the beginning, you think you have “Reasons” pegged as a typical folk-pop song but, within just under a minute, the entire track shifts into something more powerful and a bit more rocking. By the end of this song, it’s hard to remember that you ever had the genre “folk-pop” in your head when listening to this song. If it wasn’t that unique and flawless blend that caught me, it was surely the lyrics. They are raw and heart-on-your-sleeve styled while having a very polished energy and a sense of organization to them. I guess what I’m trying to say here is that there are many reasons to fall in love with “Reasons” from Schoney but, the moral of the story is that you will inevitably fall for this song and Schoney as a whole.
