I know it hasn’t been that long since my last breather but I need another one. I need a song that will jumpstart my motivation to just put my head down and get work done instead of constantly getting distracted by things that don’t actually need to be done. Will “Lift Me Up” from King Tide do the trick? Let’s take a listen and find out.

King Tide is a skate punk band from Southern California but I honestly didn’t need to tell you that. You can feel it the second this song starts up. “Lift Me Up” has a classic skate punk feeling with a furious pace yet never quite bridges in a chaotic feeling. The vocals have a slight tint of darkness to them instantly reminding me of Bad Religion but that brighter instrumentation brings a bit more of a Goldfinger influence to the song. All of these things come together to create a sound that is both familiar and fresh at the same time. “Lift Me Up” is a positive little jam that definitely did the trick as far as getting me back into the zone so although it may be a hot minute before I share another single with you, I think digging into “Lift Me Up” and the other music that King Tide has out there will keep you busy for a bit.
