I don’t have a quirky opener for you right now. I’ve just been working away and need a little break so I figured now is as good of a time as any to share the next single on my docket with you. This one is a true banger and absolutely worth you taking a little break in your surely busy Tuesday.
“The Machinist” is the lead single from On The Ropes’ self-titled EP. It’s their first music since 2015 and I love the fact that you can kind of hear that in their distinct and unique blend of post-hardcore and pop-punk. What I mean by that is that there are clear nods to the pop-punk scenes of years gone by but this band puts a fresh twist on it. Soaring guitars with anthemic choruses and drums that never seem to stop, “The Machinist” is just as filled with energy as it is with heart. It seems only fitting that the lyrics of this song are about the feeling of burn out and exhaustion. To say that “The Machinist” hit me on all of the right levels would be an understatement and I truly think it will hit you just as hard if you give it a chance.
