I am trying my hardest not to “Crash” right now. I’m tired and motivation is starting to dwindle but, like every other day and like all of you, I can’t give in. It almost felt cruel that the next song on my docket to share with you is titled “Crash”. It feels like a bit of a cruel joke but, as soon as I hit play on this song from Streets To Ourselves, I realized the new music Gods were looking out for me– not mocking me.
“Crash” wastes no time and instantly hits you with a nostalgia-fueled pop-punk sound. Although I would definitely call this song fun and catchy pop-punk, there’s something a bit more angsty and a bit more intense about this song overall. It’s a slight hint of darkness and aggression but I love the depth that that subtle note adds to this track. As singer and guitarist Daniel Peachy said as far as what “Crash” is about, “Crash is about how crazy life can be, how fast circumstances can change, and how quickly it can all get out of hand. I was also writing about my feelings of nostalgia and the longing I was experiencing for simpler times, both in my personal life and in the world in general.”. I feel like you can feel this sense of desperation throughout the song. Okay, maybe desperation is a bad word but you can get this feeling of almost panic and running out of time but, have no fear, by the end of the song, you are left with nothing short of triumphant energy.
