Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s one of those days where my mind is already at home getting a crap ton done tonight. It’s a good thing because it means I’m feeling motivated and ready to conquer my never ending to-do list but, at the same time, it has me feeling anxious because I know, at the end of the day, I’ll never get it all done. I just need a break from the thoughts in my mind and I have the debut single from Tommy Bomb to help me with that break.

“Actin’ Tough” from Tommy Bomb definitely doesn’t come off as a debut single. This track is flawless and I mean that. From the composition to the tone and all the way to the mixing, this song is truly just perfect. This song is perfectly situated in a bit of a indie-rock world but I love the more angsty alt-rock tendencies that the band has popping in and out throughout this song. On top of all of this, there’s something just straight-up pretty and cozy about this song. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I can tell you that the vocals felt familiar and warm while staying energized and keeping me engaged throughout the three and a half minute long song. This is just the beginning for Tommy Bomb and, after hearing “Actin’ Tough” I expect a very bright future for this Nashville, Tennesse-based act.
