I’ve been drowning in work all day and now it’s finally starting to get to me. I have a nice dull headache starting to take shape and my eyelids are getting heavy to the point where I just know the second I get home I’m going to need a nap rather than having the energy to just keep working through the night. It’s okay though because I have Shawn Mocey’s new song “Good Night” to help me cope with all of my feelings and usher me into a “Good Night”.
This track is pop-punk-perfection. There’s really no other way to put it and really not much else for me to say here (but, don’t worry, I’ll figure something out). Shawn is from Pennsylvania and started his music career with listening to hip-hop as a kid, then moved onto standard rock n’ roll before he landed on the pop-punk tendencies he showcases in “Good Night”. I love knowing this journey because I feel like you can feel all of these elements throughout this track. You get that hip-hop vibe from the way the words fit with the music. The rock n’ roll vibe comes from the sheer power that Shawn attaches to every beat and then the pop-punk vibe, well, just listen. This song is sweet, powerful, innocent, and angst all at once making it a great listen to help get you through the afternoon slump.
