Happy Friday, ya’ll! We made it! I don’t know about you but this week seemed like both the longest and shortest at the same time and I am so ready for what should be a sunny and warm weekend. I can’t jump the gun though. I still have a full day of work ahead of me and need to stay focused which means it’s time to check out some new music starting with “MY TRAGIC LIFE” from Heather Kathryn.
I know that this track leans a bit heavily into the pop side of things for me but don’t hold that against this song. This bop is relatable, raw, and honest. On top of that, Heather’s vocals are perfection without being overly produced sounding. The first single off of Heather’s upcoming EP of the same new, “MY TRAGIC LIFE” is a song about the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated industry. Like I said, raw, honest, and, most importantly, relatable. Heather doesn’t hold back in this song whether it’s the vocals, lyrics, or instrumentation making this song, albeit poppy, an instant favorite of mine. It’s hooky, it’s infectious, and it’s clearly full of passion and subtle angst.
