It’s the kind of day where I can’t decide what to order for lunch. Normally I bring my own lunch but, due to one too many drinks with friends last night, that just wasn’t in the cards for this morning so now I sit here struggling to decide if I want a sandwich or a burrito. It’s a hard decision but I’ll figure it out. This has nothing to do with “bing.it” from Mirror Club but checking out this song just may help me make up my mind as to what to order for lunch.
Mirror Club is a band from Philadelphia. They got their start in 2023 but their sound feels a bit more aged than that (in a good way). “bing.it” is a super powerful post-punk leaning song that has sparkles of everything from indie to shoegaze to create a sound that is as unique as it is beautiful. I love how the instrumentation throughout this three and a half minute songs feels almost laid back (at least until the end of the track) compared to the shouted and angsty vocals. The way both of these things come together to create two clashing vibes while combining into something uniquely intriguing is pure gold. There’s almost a howl to some of the vocals that adds a slightly eerie vibe to this track which is truly just the cherry on top. There are a million things to hear in “bing.it” from Mirror Club so feel free to listen to this track a few times before moving on with you day.
