Although “Melatonin” by Jack Fargo leaned way deeper into the pop side of things than I normally go for, it’s a song that I’ve revisited time and time again, so I was stoked when Jack Fargo’s name came across my desk again.
Jack Fargo’s new song, “Night Moves,” is just as poppy leaning as “Melatonin,” but it has a bit more of a sharp tongue behind it that I found absolutely irresistible. This is a feel-good anthem with a deep groove and a summer-night kind of feel to it. As Jack Fargo puts it, this song was written “during a time when everything seemed to click.” That could mean a million things to a million people, but, in the case of Jack Fargo, “I was falling in love, got a raise at work, and signed a record deal, all in the same summer.” Maybe those aren’t exactly your “Night Moves” but you surely have some and I love the way that, even on the crappiest days where your heart is heavy and your head is anywhere but where it should be, Jack Fargo reminds you to keep you “Night Moves” in mind, take a breath, and just relax– it will all work out in the end.
