Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m teetering between the energy I put ou there in my last post and falling back into the doom and gloom that I tend to get lost in when I’m this busy. Truthfully, I’m starting to get caught up and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel but I keep getting hit by one-two punches from people who are clearly just trying to keep me down. I don’t get it but I know that I need a song that can cheer me up a little bit and if a band with “Cheer Up” in their name can’t do it, I don’t know what can.

“I AM NOT DYING ON THAT HILL” from Cheer Up Dusty is a super fun and slightly silly track which made it just what I needed for right now. A classic pop-punk sound that definitely feels a bit more nostalgic than fresh (but that’s not a bad thing at all), Cheer Up Dusty’s sound is clean and crisp but it still has that raw quality to the honesty of the lyrics that makes it such a pop-punk perfect kind of song. “I AM NOT DYING ON THAT HILL” is a reminder to chase your dreams at all costs, and I feel like that, mixed with the sheer amount of joyous energy that radiates from this three-minute track, makes it the perfect song for anyone else who feels like they’re drowning right now. Sure, you may be drowning and stressed beyond belief but, in just a couple of days, this too shall pass and you will be left with bands like Cheer Up Dusty that helped you get through it all.
