Girl at the Rock Shows

I feel like I’m still trying to play catch-up after being gone over the weekend, but I’m not letting it get the best of me. I’ve had some amazing shows since I got back in town, and it has me just so excited about all of the music that’s out there right now. Taking a break from getting stuff done may not be my best plan for right now, but it’s what I want to do, so let’s take a listen to “Push Push” from Muscle.

This song blends everything that’s good into something that’s brilliant. At its core, “Push Push” is a hardcore-leaning song, but it glistens with elements of everything from electro pop to dance punk. I love how everything about this quick, two-minute song makes sense, yet there’s a sense of creativity that flows through the track and makes you think a bit more about what’s going on. I wouldn’t say that the overall composition of this song is unpredictable, but I would say that it takes twists and turns throughout the journey that may not be as expected as one would think. Fast and furious is the name of the game, and “Push Push” from Muscle is done before you’re ready for it to be done, but have no fear, this band has more material out there, so if you like what you hear here, I suggest you dig into some of their other releases.
