Mad Apple Circus has been my new obsession lately and, as much as I want to keep them for myself, it’s time I share the magic of this band with all of you.
Mad Apple Circus is a quirky band, as you can tell from their newish single “Forget the Day.” The 2nd song from their latest album, ‘WRITTEN IN CAPITALS,’ “Forget The Day” splits the difference between a classic ska sound and something a bit more punk-leaning. On top of all of that, you get intricacies that really put this band on its own trajectory. I was really drawn to this song because of the message behind it. As the band puts it, this track is “both a plea and a promise to yourself: “I’m not done yet”.” The triumphant power of this message can be felt both in the horns and the overall infectious energy. Even if this isn’t a message that you hear right now, it’s surely one that will come in handy in the future so make sure to store this song away for those days when things feel rough because it will surely get you back on track.
