The last time I shared out a song from poor sport with you was last August. That is far too long ago, especially for a band as stellar as this one, so let me remind you how much this band deserves your attention by sharing their new song “streetlights” with you.

As a self-proclaimed “collective of band dad’s intent on making you feel something,” poor sports is absolutely a band that I have my eyes on because of the emotion and heart that they clearly put into everything they do. This is especially true when it comes to this new single. “streetlights” has a tenderness about it that will put you right in your feels, but at the same time, there’s a grit behind this song which gives you that signature “poor sport punk edge.” I love how, although there is clearly no shortage of emotion in this song, it’s not overly sad. In fact, this song filled me with a sense of triumphant energy that I so badly needed to help me get through the rest of the day. The music of poor sport is a true cathartic experience. It’s an outlet for those emotions that you can feel bottling up inside of you, and it’s a beautiful one at that. So what are you waiting for?
