Happy Thursday, everyone. This has been one of those weeks that feels like it’s flying by but, at the same time, is moving at a snail’s pace. It’s a weird feeling made only weirder than the tension, stress, and fear that is still blanketing the streets here in Minneapolis. I feel like just when things start feeling kind of okay, something happens like the massive raid that just happened this morning where federal agents shattered the glass door of an apartment building to get in. Things aren’t getting any better and there’s no way to ignore it (nor should you) but I think we could all use a little pick-me-up this morning so let’s get the day started with “Mr. Sensitive” from Remember November.

Remember November (AKA ЯNR) is a four-piece band from Barrie, Ontario with such a perfect sound. “Mr. Sensitive” is a pop-punk perfect kind of song at least when it comes to the vocals. They instantly took me back to the early 2000s emo and pop punk scene. They are perfectly nassaly and whiney (okay, that doesn’t sound like a good thing, I know, but I promise they are perfect). Add in some gang vocals and it’s easy to hear why the vocals are what drives this song forward. That’s not that only hook when it comes to this song. The instrumentation has a very 90s alt-rock vibe to it which adds to the charm and infectious energy of this song. Although both of these elements are filled with nostalgia, the way that Remember November puts them together creates a super fresh sound. One that’s perfect to soundtrack you getting ready to conquer this Thursday regardless of what it may hold.
