Someone take this bag of Hot Cheetos away from me! I just can’t stop snacking on them. I also can’t stop checking out new music right now. One of these things is a bit more satisfying than the other so let’s check out yet another new song and see if it can stop me from snacking.
Pop-punk-perfection is the name of the game here and you here that as soon as this three and a half minute song kicks in. “Counting Up” is Test The Waters’ eighth song released and the first of ten songs that the band is releasing as an album. It’s your typical sun-soaked coming-of-age kind of pop-punk song, but what really caught me was just the perfection of it all. The production (done by Ben Hirschfield of No Pressure) could not be more flawless. The overall composition, although not surprising or with any twists or turns, is stellar, and the overall energy that radiates throughout this song is what dreams are made of. I wish I had more to say about this song, but “Counting Up” from Test The Waters is just one of those songs that is good, and you don’t need to have the words to describe why. You just hear and feel it.
