I’m debating taking tomorrow off from my day job. It’s not that I need the day off; really, if I do take it off, I’ll just spend the day working at home and finally cleaning the house. Why is it so hard for me to take time off? Is it just me and my workaholic tendencies, or is the culture we live in one where you just aren’t allowed to have a day to slow down and relax? Regardless, I’m on the fence, but maybe after taking a break and checking out “Vacant Rooms” from Our Fair City, I’ll have an answer.

“Vacant Rooms” is a single off of Our Fair City’s ‘Safe Haven’ album, which is out now. This song starts off slow and sweet, but you instantly fall into the ocean that is Our Fair City’s sound. With a little Wonder Years sensibility mixed with a bit more grit in the vein of Apologies, I have none, this song fits the bill regardless of whether you are having a calm and cozy Thursday or having a bit of a frantic and manic kind of day. This song will either help you find peace for your restless soul or give you a little burst of coziness to keep you warm and calm as you go about your chill day. There’s beauty in the words here as much as there is beauty in the instrumentation and composition. Basically, “Vacant Rooms” is just a beautifully beautiful kind of song, and it absolutely deserves your attention today.
