Girl at the Rock Shows

Today is just trucking along, and although it’s been non-stop since I woke up, I’m feeling great, and I really think that’s thanks to all of the amazing music I have soundtracking my day, like “Clever” from Imaginary Monsters.

Do I even need to tell you about this song? The way “Clever” starts off is so strong and to the point. It’s perfectly pop-punk but with the perfect amount of grit and a sharp tongue to really draw you into Imaginary Monsters’ world and let you know that there is going to be such an insane amount of infectious power here. The intro really says it all here. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there are waves of emotion and sound throughout this three-minute song, but really, it just seems to be an expansion on that opening line that will surely get you hooked. Imagine Monsters deserves to be headlining an arena tour with the power and sound presented in this single. Although I don’t think that’s where they are at at this point in their career, there’s no denying that that’s what’s in store for the future of this band.
