My music taste so far today has been all over the place. I went down a rabbit hole on the Everclear discography and then just did a deep dive in Small Towns Burn a Little Slower– yeah, weird day but nothing has really caught me yet so that means it’s time to dig into some new music and I think we should start with “You Are Logged Out” from Manor Gates.

It instantly hit perfectly with a sense of nostalgia but also a strong vibe of the current pop-punk style that seems to be catching on like wildfire. This song is not new as it came out nine months ago but that doesn’t change how amazing it is. It’s catchy and will absolutely bring a smile to your face while reminding you of those days in the early 2000s when things were just a wee bit simpler. I found myself super hooked by the guitar riffs throughout this track. They almost had a math-influenced quality to them that made them stand out against everything else in the song. That’s not to say that the other elements in “You Are Logged Out” aren’t great because they are, there was just something about the guitar work that really grabbed me.

Are you like me and struggling to fill your daily playlist for today? Try this song out. I think you will like it and, like me, will instantly want to do a deep dive into Manor Gates’ other material.
