My “I don’t know what to listen to” day is continuing and I feel like nothing that I put on is hitting the spot so that means time to dig into some new music and this time it’s coming in hot from Kairos in the form of their track “Million To One”.
This song is instantly catchy. Everything from the guitars to the drums and all the way to the vocals, this is one of those tracks that gets stuck in your head upon first listen. I love the movement throughout the track. There are moments that remind me a bit of Fall of Troy, others that remind me of The Strokes, and some that have an almost Fall Out Boy quality to them. It’s really all over the place and all of the places that this song goes are perfect.
Although I wouldn’t call this aggressive or in your face in any way, there’s something just a bit abrasive about “Million to One” as if the band is threatening you to turn off or change the song and I loved that element. Maybe I’m just reading into it or making things up but it was an aspect of this track that seemed to just be the cherry on top.
