I’d be lying if I said I felt like a bed of roses today. I don’t know if it’s the dramatic weather changes we have been going through of it I had one too many drinks last night at the show but, regardless, I’m just dragging a wee bit. There’s no time for that and I need something to snap me out of it and give me the motiviation I need to get through what is sure to be another insanely busy day. “Claustrophobia” gave me just that and then some.
Right off the bat, I want to compare this to old school Panic! at the Disco (yes, old school enough that I am including the exclamation mark) due to the vocal styling but, as this song grows, that comparison only comes and goes throughout. Really, it’s a blend of that almost theatrical fueled pop-punk but also with something a bit more modern like a Mulligan or The Wonder Years vibe. With catchy hooks, addicting lyrics, and a sense of heart that comes with every word and every note, I found myself hanging off of every beat throughout this song in the best way. Although it sounds like a standard pop-punk song at first listen, I found myself on a rollercoaster ride throughout the song both stylistically and mood wise. I love that you can either just consider this an easy listening track or a track to really dig deep into. Regardless of how you listen to “Claustrophobia”, I am sure you are going to love it as much as I do!
