“Tides” from RISE ABOVE is yet another example of a song that is far from new but is still more than worthy of your time today.
“Tides” came out back in 2016 and was clearly a bit before its time. The intensity throughout this quick and dirty set is truly remarkable. I mean, seriously, this song is just over two minutes long and, other than just a few breaks, it is relentlessly perfect. Power, intensity, hardcore, punk– it’s all there and is sure to provide a jolt of energy that is as strong as if you were to pour yourself another cup of coffee. The composition of this song isn’t as predictable as one would think so make sure to listen to this whole song. It kind of reminds me of Every Time I Die with the unpredictable twists and turns. On top of that, there’s an undeniable attention to detail throughout the song. RISE ABOVE not only nailed every note throughout this song, they nailed the tone of those notes and treat with note and word with a sense unwavering care.
