Happy Thursday! We’ve almost made it to the weekend and I couldn’t be happier about that. I wish I had something witty to say but the truth is that it has already been a super stressful morning and I am exhausted so let’s not waste any time and check out “MESSAGE ON THE MACHINE” from The Snorts in hopes that it brings me back to life.
The Snorts are one of those bands that has nailed the balance between raw and polished. You hear that right away as clear vocals soar over punk-inspired instrumentation that has a bit of fuzz to it. The song starts off slow and steady but quickly gains speed turning into a perfectly anthemic track full of hooks and lines that will surely get stuck in your head. There’s something a bit vintage about this track and I’m getting a clear nod to punk bands from the 90s like Screeching Weasel but, at the same time, I’m also getting a fresh feeling from this song with nods to newer acts like Iron Chic and Spanish Love Songs. This blend of those two feelings makes a sound that is unforgettable instantly landing The Snorts a place in the daily playlist of my life.
