Are you still with me? I know it’s a Monday and, at least up here in Minneapolis, it’s the kind of weather that makes you want to just curl up at home with a good album but I hope you’re still hanging in there. I’ll be honest, I’m starting to fade a little bit but I can’t give in. I still have a lot to do so instead of giving into my heavy eyelids, let’s check out another new track.

Sometimes, when a band signs to a label, everything changes and not for the better. Thankfully, that is not the case with Arcadia Grey. “Made 4 Luv” is this Chicago-based act’s first release on Smartpunk Records and instead of trying to shove this band into a box like many labels do, “Made 4 Luv” showcases Arcadia Grey’s distinct and unique sound. If you like Spanish Love Songs, Arcadia Grey is for you. If you like old-school Tsunami Bomb, Arcadia Grey is for you. If you like just a generic indie-pop mix, Arcadia Grey is for you. Get where I’m going with this? Arcadia Grey has a million influences and takes them all and puts them into their sound. You get this as you listen to “Made 4 Luv”. Moments of controlled chaos contrasted with moments of pure beauty followed by two-step ready breakdowns (okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic but there is a nod to a breakdown hidden in this song) are all reasons that you have to hear “Made 4 Luv”.
