It snowed last night, I’m wearing a costume that is my boss which means I didn’t have to wear make-up today, and I used my peppermint mocha coffee creamer this morning. What I’m trying to say is that today is a good day. I’m relaxed but ready to take on the world so I’m ready for some new music to use as my soundtrack for whatever comes my way.
The amount of passion that comes through in “The Bridge Between Us” from Pacifist is as deafening as the power behind this song. There’s a mature vibe to the band’s take on post-hardcore that I found comforting but an energy that, at times, is super aggressive and in your face. The way the band pogo’s between intense and beautiful throughout this three minute and nineteen second song is genius and really keeps you on your toes. You may think you know where this song is going to go but then Pacifist changes everything and turns a different direction. This creates a sense of excitement throughout this song that I haven’t felt recently. Hardcore influence with a more melodic hook, I love how “The Bridge Between Us” has a little bit of everything while still coming off as a perfectly curated and composed track.
