I know it’s not right to judge a band by their name but, with a name like “Madame Psychosis”, I couldn’t help but to be intrigued. Thankfully, that intrigue paid off because their song “Concrete Streets” hit me right in the soul.
“Concrete Streets” from Madame Psychosis is a super solid and well done track but it’s the lyrics of this song that really had me stuck. The song is about taking care of yourself and getting away from the grind every once in awhile. I’m in a bit of a precarious position as my way of getting away from the daily grind is going to concerts but concerts are also my grind. It’s a catch-22 that, at times, I have a really hard time coping with but this song gave me a second to reflect and realize that a night off here or there may not kill me and that it is important to just chill. This message matched with the beautiful vocals and standard yet infectious alt-rock beat are all things that make “Concrete Streets” a must listen.
