I just spent way too much time, money, and stress on getting tickets to When We Were Young for next year. I honestly hate that festival due to the layout of the whole thing but the line-up, like the past two years, had me and I just couldn’t resist. I’m feeling exhausted just from the past thirty-nine minutes and am honestly ready to just go to bed and nurse my wounds (and bank account somehow) but I still have a lot of work to get done so let’s check out “Mountain Removal” from Dead Senses and see if this new song can bring me back to life.

“Mountain Removal” is completely drenched in emotion. You feel that right as the song starts with spoken word playing over a tender and delicate yet intense instrumentation. It isn’t until about thirty-five seconds into this track until you hear the extreme power of Dead Senses but when it hits, it hits hard and deep. I really can not explain to you how much emotion is encased in this song. It comes drenching every note whether it’s from the lyrics, the vocal styling, or instrumentation. Even with that and the extreme nature of the track, there’s something oddly calming about this song that carries until the end. Honestly, I can’t figure this track out but that’s what made it stand out to me and makes it such a powerful track.
