I was doing so good with keeping on track this morning and getting stuff done but now we’ve reached that dreaded after-lunch slump and to say I’m down for the count would not be an exaggeration. I would love nothing more than to go home and to curl up on the couch with my cats, a fresh cup of coffee, and a new record but I’m stuck here at the day job. My heads a bit lost in the clouds and I need something a little aggressive but also something slightly tender to help me snap out of it and “Salmon” from TRUTHTELLER is doing just the trick.
I’ll be the first to admit that the pandemic sucked. It took away my one true love– concerts– but it also brought some amazing music to the table including Norwich-based TRUTHTELLER. As much as I needed concerts during the pandemic, I needed TRUTHTELLER’s track “Salmon” to help me get through today. This song hits and it hits hard. That being said, there are moments of pure beauty contrasted between moments of sheer energy and amplified rock. I love this constant give and take that plays out throughout this three and a half minute song but also love how neither song really wins. From moments that felt a little grandson.-esque to others that had more of a Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes vibe, “Salmon” is a larger-than-life song from a band that absolutely deserves your attention and love today so checking out TRUTHTELLER and then tell all of your friends about this amazing band!
